Sunday School Classrooms
Give Back Day is a cross-cultural, intergenerational, service learning
experience that invites families to see the world from a different perspective,
without leaving home.
Throughout the season of LENT we will be collecting coins (and dollars) to continue our sponsorship of our child in Uganda, Lyton.
Update on Lyton
For over a year we have been working through Childcare Worldwide to sponsor a child in Uganda. Our weekly Sunday School offering goes to help purchase books and other school supplies for our child, Lyton.
Recently, Lyton reached out to us at Trinity to let us know how she is doing and send her thanks for all we have done for her. You can read her entire letter here.
Want to learn more about Lyton? Here are some fun facts she has shared:
Praying for one another
Friday Prayer Service (Chapel at Noon)
Joining together in the power of prayer, each week this group gathers together to lift up concerns that may include special events or current affairs; our staff, congregation, synod, and the ELCA; our Missionaries or Mission Partners. Information about Congregational Prayer concerns can be found in Trinity Parish newsletter and Trinity Today. Do you have a prayer concern? Use the simple form to the right.
Every Member Prayer Ministry
Each week our Prayer partners make phone contact to a list of members. The Partner prays that week for any concerns, needs or celebrations of members. In addition, those members are also prayed for in prayers of church at all worship services and the entire congregation is invited to pray for people on list. The weekly list of persons is included in Trinity Parish newsletter and Trinity Today.
Reaching out to those at home
Provide a home cooked meal to a family welcoming a newborn, after surgery, or other life event. Some members also help to organize luncheons/receptions at church for family of member at time of funeral or memorial service
Lay Home Communion Ministry
Assist Pastors who provide monthly communion “at home” and nursing home members. Generally the Pastors visit four times per year, and lay persons visit eight times a year.
In cooperation with Pastoral staff, Evangelism and Women of Trinity, these persons make visits and phone calls to “at home” members not able to attend worship. We also deliver CD’s of services, Bible study and devotionals, and altar flowers.
Audio CD Ministry
Volunteers prepare CD’s of worship services and Bible studies and other programs as available. Anyone may borrow these digital copies which reside in the library.
